15 to 19 year old drivers make up just seven percent of licensed car drivers, yet in 2008 this group accounted for: 15 percent of serious injury crashes, and 14 percent of those involved in fatal crashes.

RYDA NZ LTD(RYDA) is an initiative of Rotary Clubs in Australia and New Zealand. A voluntary organisation, RYDA has developed a programme to help educate young people about road safety.
In New Zealand RYDA is an approved project of Rotary Districts 9910, 9920, 9930 and 9970 with Districts 9940 and 9980 being participating Districts.
