Brain Injury Association delivers Injury prevention Education

The Brain Injury Association delivers Brain Injury prevention education around Northland through their award winning program ThinkFirst.
 
Ruairidh Morrison participates in this valuable program by sharing the story of his life and that of his family, which was changed forever when Ruairidh was hit by a car at the age of two and a half. 

His message encourages drivers to think about their driving behaviour and the potential effect on others.

Check out the story in the Northern Advocate by Kristin Edge about how Ruairidh and his father are helping to educate young drivers who are taking part in the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) road-safety programme aimed at changing their attitudes towards motoring.

Vanessa Gray, General Manager of the Brain Inury Associaton Northland says that this is Ruairidh’s second year participating in the RYDA programme and that his participation in the Brain Injury Association’s presentation is really powerful and brings the potential consequences of poor driver behaviour into stark reality for the student participants.

Ruairidh’s message to them is “Don’t drink and drive and always look out for people. You don’t know what they will do.”
